Research Title: Suprachoroidal Buckling Versus Scleral Buckling for the Treatment of Phackic Retinal Detachment

Description: The purpose of this research study is to compare the new surgical technique, Suprachoroidal buckling, with the established surgical procedures (Pneumatic Retinopexy, Scleral Buckling and Pars Plana Vitrectomy) for retinal detachment repairs. This new technique can offer fewer side effects than the established techniques and has been shown to be effective in prior studies in Europe. Currently, Suprachoroidal buckling is not approved for use in the United States and its use in this study is investigational.
