Biography
Dr. Faux grew up in New Orleans and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Williams College, where she majored in English, sang in an a cappella group, and became an All-American in tennis, competing for four national-championship winning teams. She was chosen by her conference’s coaches for Sportswoman of the Year.
She attended Tulane University for medical school, where she was a DeBakey Scholar for her research activity and was elected by her peers to the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed her internship in Internal Medicine at the Ochsner Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, and her ophthalmology residency training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City.
She then completed her two-year medical and surgical retina fellowship at the Illinois Eye & Ear Infirmary in Chicago, where she was selected by the ophthalmology residents and fellows for the Guy H. Chan Jr, MD Fellow Education Award, given to a trainee who helps the team succeed.
Dr. Faux is grateful for the extreme privilege to get the opportunity to help patients with their vision, something that can greatly impact one’s quality of life.
Outside of the office, Dr. Faux enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, playing tennis, running, and reading.
